Global Coordination and Research UnitStrategic importance of the Global Coordination and Research Unit of EENITo fulfil its mission, to develop and maintain its competitive advantages, and to be the leader in training in international business, EENI Global Business School, in addition to the teaching and research functions, needs to develop the coordination function. Unlike a traditional university (whose coordination level is much smaller and local), EENI needs to coordinate, organize, distribute and guarantee the quality of all the information generated by the regional universities and the different departments located in the world, practically in real time and at a competitive cost. Coordination Needs (Traditional University, EENI) The “Global Coordination and Research Unit (GCRU)” is also essential in the development of other strategic principle of EENI Global Business School: It is necessary to generate the information (locally, in each country), and to transform it into knowledge EENI Global Business School should manage, through its global knowledge networks, the different levels of information (global, regional and local / country), to offer to any student in the world, a training tailored to his needs and adapted to the reality of his country. This adaptability is one of the EENI competitive advantages. The analysis of this constant global information flow received will allow EENI to define its fields of research as well as to adapt them to the market changes and companies needs, organisations related to International Business, the society in general as well as to include it in the educational programs of EENI and therefore in benefit to the student. The “Global Coordination and Research Unit” is, therefore, the nerve centre of EENI Global Business School; it is the “brain” that coordinates all the generated information flows:
The strategic importance of the “Global Coordination Unit and Research” can be observed in its location in the organisation chart: The Global Coordination and Research Unit reports directly to the Rector, who reports directly to the board of directors, who defines the multi-annual research planning. The “Doctoral School” depends on the Global Coordination and Research Unit. The Global Coordination and Research Unit also coordinates all the generated information flows by knowledge and research networks organised around the departments of EENI: Each department is organised in different areas; in each of them, there will be different research groups. The following chart shows the location of the different research groups related to African, American and Asian Affairs Departments: The Global Coordination and Research Unit, together with the Director of each department, must coordinate this information flow. The Regional Foreign Trade Institutes also depend on the Global Coordination and Research Unit Research Committee The Research Commission is the body in charge of executing the global research strategy of EENI within the Global Coordination and Research Unit. This unit with the collaboration of the director of each department must coordinate all this information flow. It is formed permanently by the rector, Director of the “Global Coordination and Research Unit” and Secretary. Developing Countries: Research or Education?
